Expectant parents and clients,

As a doula, the most question I am asked is… “what should I pack for the hospital?!” So, right to the point… here is what I recommend vs. what the hospital or myself already provides...
Picture
Pack For Labour:
Water Bottle (with straw/spout)
Noise Cancelling Ear Buds
Flip Flops
Chapstick
Sports Bra, Birthing Outfit or Gown
Partners Swim Trunks
Snacks for Mom and Partner
Phone(s) and Charger
Camera

Doula Provides (Taryn Personally):
Clients Birth Plan
Bluetooth Speaker
Personal Fan
Massage Ball
Tens Machine
Battery Operated Candles
Essential Oils

Postpartum:
Comfy Clothes (pants that fit second trimester!)
Nursing Bra(s)
Slippers
Moms Toiletries
Pillow (Optional)
Partners Clothes & Toiletries
Receiving Blanket(s)
Baby’s Zippered Sleepers
Baby’s Going Home Outfit
Car Seat (Leave In Car!)

Hospital Provides:
Yoga Ball
Peanut Ball
Towels
Diapers/Wipes
Pads/Mesh Underwear
Peri Bottle
Want to not look like a first timer?!
(Seriously, we can tell by the way you pack haha!)
Save your partner carrying in large bags of STUFF
and needing to do multiple trips
by this rule of thumb…
If you’re not sure if you need or want it,
pack it in the car!
Things can live in the trunk
as maybes but don’t have to
come to the room! You can always send partner to
grab something if it’s actually needed!

Hope that helps!
